How much does a store cost?
The benefit of a simple operation, design and layout is the ability to streamline cost and gain efficiencies. While costs will vary depending on store layout, projected volume and location; can be between $250k - $400k.
What other costs are there?
$40,000 franchise set-up fee and $5,000 to $10,000 training fee depending on work history and experience.
How much can I expect to pay to the franchisor?
Royalties of 6% of net turnover plus 2% which goes back into advertising and marketing for store sales building, calculated monthly.
What is the minimum cash unencumbered amount I must have to be considered for a franchise?
We believe having the right person is just as important as financial position so this will be discussed on a case by case basis. Beyond all else, our intention is to ensure our Franchisees are set-up for success and all contingencies are covered.
Can I invest in a Better Burger whilst someone else manages it?
We see franchising as an owner-operated business structure and believe that success in these structures is built by passionate, hard-working people, operating on the front line each day. If, however, you have an investment partner who is prepared to share financial risk without operating in the business, this can be discussed on an individual basis.
What does training look like?
Depending on your work history and experience; training will take 4-6 weeks to complete and consist of everything from how to cut tomatoes to extensive shift management training. This will take place in our Auckland restaurants.
What are the expected returns from owning a Better Burger franchise?
This will be covered in the application process (which you can find here) under a non-disclosure agreement.
How long does the franchise agreement last?
5 years with a right of renewal based on performance for a further 5 years.
